All the kids learning to cook! AAhhhhhh!

Jacob has been very interested lately in wanting to cook his own breakfast. We have been shocked, but encouraging him to do so since sometimes it is hard to get him to eat breakfast. Now it has turned into a family event where Jacob is the one who cracks and mixes the eggs and Jonah and Noah are on toast duty. It is cute to watch them all run around the kitchen with pot holders and their plates. It is organized chaos at best. Jacob does a great job with kitchen safety, being the oldest and all. Jonah and Noah grab pot holders and grab the toast when it pops up. They are all doing a great job learning. Rebecca and I wouldn't necessarily let them make breakfast for us in bed without supervision, for fear that the house would burn down, but it is a great start. Next, we will be training the kids to do their own laundry--can't burn down the house using the washing machine, can you?
We were going to head off today and boat to Blake Island for the afternoon and let the kids play on the beach. The weather isn't cooperating though with possibilities of thunder storms. So the kids and I are having a leisurely morning and we will get some yard work done. Doesn't sound as fun, but as my dad always used to say, "It has to be done" Now that we have been home from vacation for awhile, we are getting itchy to start ripping out our master bathroom and working on this some more. I looked back a year ago to when we were starting all of this renovation, and it is a little exhausting, yet we did accomplish a lot. Our bathroom needs the update, so that is next on the list. On July 26th, we will be taking a driving trip to San Francisco and we are going to blog the events of each day. It should be fun and very interesting. We are going to take the kids to see the Golden Gate bridge and to ride on the trolley. We are also going to head down to Santa Cruz and to the boardwalk for Noah's 4th birthday and play in Monterey, CA. It will be fast, but fun. We haven't ever done a true driving trip, but thought the age of the kids are such that we can try now. Keep your eyes on the blog for more updates. Have a great day.
