Fishing. Be as quiet as a bull in a china closet

Uncle Tom decided to take some of the kids "fishing" down at the creek at his parents' home. It is always comical to take kids fishing with large sticks, fishing line, and a hook. We were more doing it for the experience. We did see some fish, but never had the pleasure of catching one. It was like herding cats down at the creek. They were loud, inpatient, and couldn't stay in one place. Pretty much every skill you don't need if you want to catch a fish. They sure had fun though

At one point, they were all hanging over the wall, getting their lines tangled. I wonder why the fish were swimming away.

Jacob got a lesson in fish bait. Tom thrives on pushing the kids right to the edge and he did when he told Jacob to smell the bait. Jacob loved it and so did Tom.

A picture is worth a thousand words. This was one of the quiet moments during the fishing excursion. I think I actually heard the birds at that moment.

This was towards the end of the fishing experience when they started telling us they were too tired and wanted to go back. Perfect timing, because we were done. They had a good time even though the fish weren't biting. They did see the fish though which gave them hope for next time.
