Annual 3rd of July, Fireworks party at the Schroder's!!

My cousin Marcy and her husband, Mark, have a 3rd of July party every year in Poulsbo because they have a great view from their house. Poulsbo shoots off fireworks at 10:20 p.m. so we all come over and hang out there all evening. We had a great time and there was a lot of good food. Weather was incredible. Mike and Andrea, my brother and sister-in-law, came over with their kids from Spokane so we had a lot of our family there. Here are just some of the clan.

Uncle Mike and little Sophia sportin' the flag.

Since we had time to kill, we took the kids down to a park, which is right down the street, so they could run off some of their energy. It was organized chaos, or maybe it wasn't organized at all. I had to put my camera on "action" because they were going around so fast.

Rebecca always seems to be the work horse with kids hanging off of her. Nolan, her nephew, needed a ride up the hill so she threw him up on top, balloon and all.

Jacob and Sophia passing the time away playing with string. Sophia was trying to tell Jacob how to play and he went right along with it.

We cordoned off a section with chairs as a base camp in the driveway, which was quite hot. We didn't think about the lawn.

Jonah saw some boys throwing the footbal so he wanted to get in on the action. Notice, football, in the street, wearing flip flops.

They played a relay race where you had to run down, put on all of this stuff and sing Yankee Doodle Dandee. The thing I love about this picture is the Sophia is standing there with her hands on her hips watching her cousins. She told them they were doing it wrong. I loved it.

Noah putting on the hat and then he tried to stick a feather in the hat, but it didn't hold well. he kept saying, "the feather has to stay in the hat before I can go back."

Mike and Andrea as night falls on Poulsbo. Everyone also brought toppings for ice cream and we gorged ourselves as it got dark. It was a kids dream with all of the different types of candy.

Jonah with a smashing hat on with his cousin Hannah and Isabelle in the background. They were waiting in their chairs for the fireworks to start.

By nightfall, Jacob's appetite kicked into full gear and Dana didn't mind sitting next to him because he kept bring the chips and dip. Good combo. It was a good firework show and the party was a great way to start the weekend. Happy 4th!
